Questions

Germany: your questions answered

What is the blocked account and APS certificate?

The blocked account holds about €11,904, your own living-cost money for one year, released monthly after you arrive. The APS certificate is a mandatory verification of your academic documents that Indian students must obtain before applying. We guide you through both.

Do I have to speak German?

Not necessarily. Many master’s programmes are taught fully in English and only ask for IELTS. For German-taught or public-facing courses you may need German from A1 up to B2, which we plan into your timeline.

Is tuition really free?

At most public universities, yes, you pay only a small semester contribution of a few hundred euros that usually includes a public-transport pass. Private universities and a few states do charge tuition; we flag this before you apply.

Can I work after I graduate?

Yes. After graduating you get eighteen months to find a role in your field, a chance to gain relevant practical experience in your subject. This is a study benefit after your course, not a separate scheme we handle.
