Two years of post-study work

The Graduate Route lets you stay and work for two years after you finish, no sponsor required, to gain experience after graduation.

World-ranked universities, multiple intakes

Questions

UK: your questions answered

How much money do I need to show for the visa?

You must show tuition for the first year plus living costs, roughly £1,334 a month for nine months in London, slightly less elsewhere. The funds must usually sit in your account for 28 consecutive days. We tell you the exact figure for your course and city.

Can I work while I study in the UK?

Yes. On a student visa you can typically work up to 20 hours a week during term and full time in the holidays, which helps offset living costs.

What is the Graduate Route exactly?

It is a post-study work route that lets you stay in the UK for two years (three for a PhD) after you finish, with no employer sponsorship needed. It is the simplest way to gain practical experience in your field after graduation.

Is a one year master’s respected by employers?

Yes. The one year UK master’s is a long-established, internationally recognised qualification. Employers in India and abroad treat it on par with longer programmes elsewhere.
