Questions

USA: your questions answered

What is OPT and STEM OPT?

Optional Practical Training lets F1 graduates work in the US for twelve months in their field after graduation. If your degree is on the STEM list, you can extend that by another 24 months, giving you up to three years of practical experience on your student visa.

How do I prepare for the F1 visa interview?

The officer is checking that you are a genuine student with the funds to study and clear ties to India. We run multiple mock interviews covering your course choice, finances and study intent so your answers are consistent and confident.

Can I get funding or a scholarship?

Many graduate programmes offer assistantships, fellowships and partial scholarships. We target universities where your profile is competitive for funding and guide you on how to apply for it.

Do I need GRE or GMAT?

It depends on the programme. Many master’s courses still expect the GRE (or GMAT for management), though a growing number are test-optional. We confirm the requirement for each university on your list before you sit anything.
